The MFS Curriculum

The My Family Story curriculum offers a creative and hands-on methodology for teaching Jewish heritage, promoting the historical memory of the Jewish people and creating a sense of Jewish Peoplehood. The curriculum offers a sequenced series of lesson plans based on the Project Based Learning teaching technique which is structured and combined with well defined home based activities. The curriculum includes a collection of colorful comics and text based learning, imbuing the process of roots project creation with meaningful learning.
Together with the learning units is a step-by-step guide for educators to support their students through the process of creating My Family Story roots projects and participating in the Manuel Hirsch Grosskopf International Competition which is held annually in June.
My Family Story offers teachers and schools:
• The support of experienced educators from within Beit Hatfutsot’s International School for Jewish Peoplehood Studies who are available for one-on-one advice and support.
• The support of Beit Hatfutsot archives and genealogical database and My Heritage software in order to create meaningful family trees both online and in hard copy.
